Three Years of MTH Innovator – A Chapter Ends, the Impact Remains.

From 2023 to 2026, MTH Innovator served as a space for exchange, experimentation, and collaboration. Supported and funded from the outset by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), the project is now drawing to a close.

Our mission was clear: to create hands-on innovation formats that bring together startups, SMEs, academia, and the creative industries. Open, application-oriented, and based on mutual respect, we developed formats that tested innovations and digitalisation in practice and established them through collaborative exchange.

Over these three years, numerous practical formats emerged that enabled learning and partnership:

Through “MediaTech Turntable,” we delivered interactive workshops on topics such as AI, sustainability, cybersecurity and transformation processes, as well as deepfakes and disinformation. This was complemented by application-oriented workshops at the MTH Conference and “MediaTech meets… The Green Couch”—an open “SME meets Startup” format designed for networking and knowledge transfer.

A particular highlight was the “MOVE! Challenge,” realised in partnership with the Filmuniversität Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. Here, students, founders, startups, and SMEs worked together to solve real-world challenges.

On a national level, the de:hub Journey enabled collaboration with partners from the de:hub initiative—including the Smart Systems Hub Dresden and the DIGITAL HUB INDUSTRY Bremen—strengthening cross-industry innovation and networking.

We would like to extend a special thank you to our startups from the MediaTech Hub Accelerator. Thank you for your ideas, your openness, and your active contribution to our formats.

Our thanks also go to our partners, speakers, and coaches, and of course to the entire MTH team who made the Innovator possible.

As of February 2026, the Innovator will no longer continue as a funded project. However, the lessons learned, the vision, and the energy remain. They will be integrated into the regular programming and mission of MediaTech Hub Potsdam, continuing to drive our work forward.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey. This chapter ends—a new one begins.
