After the first edition of the MediaTech Turntable took place in May this year, the event format of the MediaTech Hub Innovator entered its second round on July 2, 2024.The after-work event focuses primarily on curiosity about the topic and innovative media technologies. Once again, interested participants came together in the UFA building in Potsdam-Babelsberg to discuss and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.
Under the title “FROM BYTES TO TREES”, the focus this time was on media technologies and sustainability. First, Junior Project Manager Hannah Nieswand gave a brief introduction to the topic. This was followed by input from Bruno Deussen, Creative Director VR/AR at Studio Deussen. In his presentation, Bruno Deussen introduced various sustainable multimedia projects from the studio.
Afterwards, Programme Project Manager Olympia Tsakiridou led into the discussion phase, which was organized according to the World Café principle. The participants were divided into three groups for this purpose. There was one specific question at each of the three stations, which were discussed by the respective groups one after the other. There was one group at one station per round. As soon as the time for each round was up, the groups changed stations.
The following questions were discussed, among others: Can media technologies promote “real” sustainability? What does it take for sustainability to be anchored as an opportunity in a medium-sized company? And how can it be determined whether the technologies used are really sustainable? In addition, the discussions also repeatedly focused on what forms of sustainability actually exist and what opportunities companies have to act more sustainably and where there may also be limits.
After the discussion, participants had the opportunity to deepen their conversations and network over snacks and drinks.
The MediaTech Turntable is an event format of the MTH Innovator. There will be more events in this series in the future, although the topics will vary. Further information on upcoming events will be announced in good time.
