The MediaTech Hub Accelerator turns 5!
Since 2019, the MediaTech Hub Accelerator has been the first and only startup accelerator in Brandenburg to support digital, innovative and scalable B2B business models. With our specialization in venture capital financing, we have established ourselves as one of the few programs in Germany that specifically supports startups in the pre-seed and seed phase. We celebrated this success last week together with our partners, startups and supporters at the University of Potsdam.
The anniversary was all about innovation and exchange. Over the past five years, more than 60 start-ups from our program have collectively raised around 34 million euros in investment. This impressive figure shows how great the potential of the start-ups we support is. Our approach of offering young companies tailored support in a 12-month program and creating a strong network of universities, investors and sponsors has proven its worth.
The ceremony began with words of welcome from Prof. Oliver Günther, President of the University of Potsdam, Prof. Dr. Susanne Stürmer, President of the Babelsberg Film University, and Andrea Wickleder, CEO of the MediaTech Hub Potsdam. They praised the success of the program and emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation promotion in Brandenburg and beyond.
One highlight of the evening was the presentation of selected start-ups from our portfolio. Companies such as 2Sync, DealEngine, Getwavery, Jymmin, Mitigant and Volucap impressively demonstrated how diverse and innovative the solutions created in our Accelerator are.
The panel discussion “Funding the Future: Lessons from 5 Years of MTH Accelerator” offered exciting insights into the challenges and opportunities of startup financing. Experts such as Katja Kühnel from Brandenburg Kapital and Cindy Adrienne Beckel from IBB Ventures shared their experiences and discussed how founders can be supported in the current market situation.
The celebration was rounded off with networking over a buffet and live music by Jörg Zinke, which created a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.
We would like to thank our initiators – the University of Potsdam, the Hasso Plattner Institute and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF – as well as our supporters from politics and business, including the Ministry of Economics, Labor and Energy of the State of Brandenburg, the Investment Bank of the State of Brandenburg and the State Capital of Potsdam.
We look back on five years of innovation and success with great pleasure – and we look forward to the next few years with even greater anticipation.
