MTH Potsdam at the GITEX Europe 2025 in Berlin

From May 21 to 23, the Berlin exhibition grounds were transformed into the stage for the high-tech trade fair “GITEX Europe 2025”. As Europe’s largest tech event, GITEX attracted high-caliber guests. These included entrepreneurs, investors and start-ups from over 80 countries who came to discuss AI, digital health, quantum computing, cyber security and innovative environmental technologies and make contacts.

We from MTH Potsdam were also present with an exhibition stand and took the opportunity to exchange ideas with global representatives of the media and technology industry. As part of the DE:Hub initiative sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, we were part of a large Startup Germany exhibition area in Hall 4 of the exhibition grounds.

Here we stood together with other hubs of the initiative as well as 30 unicorns and a large number of future-oriented thought leaders. Other initiatives on site included EXIST – Existenzgründungen aus der WissenschaftHTGF | High-Tech GründerfondsGerman AcceleratorDeutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena)Startup-Verband, and Gründen.Deutschland.

Highlights and encounters

A highlight for us was the panel discussion on “Risk and Return in Media Investments”, in which Christian Teichmann (CEO Burda Principal Investments), Margaux A. Miller (MAM Media) and Tamara Steffens (Thomson Reuters Ventures) emphasized how important AI and gamification currently are in the investment sector. Benjamin Heese, CEO of our Accelerator Alumni Startup, Sensit, confirmed this trend with an increasing number of projects from the gaming sector.

Andreas Michalski, CEO and founder of CI HUB and also an alumni of our program, spoke about the need for economic opportunities and emphasized the role of educational institutions in creating strong leaders and social opportunities.

In particular, he highlighted political stability as an important factor for economic success.

Networking and cooperation

We made numerous new contacts at GITEX. Numerous start-ups showed interest in our accelerator program and engaged in direct exchange. The exchange with a delegation from Catalonia, organized by the de:hub initiative, was also particularly exciting. The Catalan government is actively looking for collaborations to promote innovative solutions between startups and regional companies.

We were able to meet many of our great partners on site, such as the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB), the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the XR Association Berlin-Brandenburg, and exchange ideas.

Conclusion

GITEX Europe 2025 was a complete success for us at MTH Potsdam. In addition to numerous international and national networking opportunities, we were able to gain new impetus for our service portfolio and further intensify our collaborations. The trade fair confirmed once again that innovation is created through exchange – and we were able to make intensive use of this.
