The Minister of Economic Affairs of the State of Brandenburg, Daniel Keller, hosted the Brandenburg Media Dinner on May 6, 2025. Over 100 invited guests from the cultural and media sector gathered at the Kutschstall in Potsdam.
After a champagne reception, State Secretary Dr. Friederike Haase kicked off the evening. She welcomed the guests and paid tribute to Kirsten Niehuus as she bid farewell to her many years of service as Managing Director of Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg. Peter Effenberg and Katja Richter then took to the stage to talk about the MediaTech Hub Potsdam, the newly selected start-up center of the state of Brandenburg. As in previous years, the traditional change of seats between the respective aisles provided variety in the discussions. This was intended to ensure networking between the guests.
Between the starter and the main course, Jörg Bachmaier, Managing Director of Studio Babelsberg, gave the first dinner speech of the evening. He spoke about his start at the studio, the hurdles that Studio Babelsberg has to overcome and what makes the studio’s work so special. The dinner speech was announced by Robert Skuppin, radio presenter and head of the culture program department at rbb.
The second dinner speech followed between the main course and dessert. Minister of Economic Affairs Daniel Keller spoke about the importance of the industry and spoke out against cuts. He thanked the guests for their work and rounded off the evening with his speech.
We would like to thank all the speakers for their inspiring and insightful speeches, all the guests for coming and especially our host, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labor and Energy and Climate Protection of the State of Brandenburg.
