From February 13 to 23, 2025, Berlin was once again transformed into the center of the international film world – and many of our partner start-ups and companies were there!
Whether it was their own screenings, interesting technology contributions or networking at the European Film Market – the Berlinale offered a great platform for presenting innovative ideas and creative excellence.
Volucap – Visual Effects in “Mickey 17” Volucap impressed with its groundbreaking volumetric deepfake technologies and contributed to the visual magic of Bong Joon-Ho’s new movie “Mickey 17”. Through high-resolution volumetric capture, Volucap enabled impressive double scenes with lead actor Robert Pattinson and set new standards for CGI and deepfake technologies in Hollywood.
Arkanum Pictures – Arkanum Pictures was represented in the Berlinale Panorama with the world premiere of “Schwesterherz”. The film by Sarah Miro Fischer sheds light on the complex dynamics of a sibling relationship that is put to the test. The premiere was met with great interest, and Arkanum used the Berlinale to discuss exciting projects and future collaborations.
Phont – Phont presented its innovative subtitling technology at the Berlinale and the European Film Market. At the screening of the award-winning short film “Istina”, Phont demonstrated how creative and lively subtitles can make the film experience more accessible and immersive. A panel on the future of subtitling technology rounded off Phont’s presence.
Rotor Film – Rotor Film was represented with two productions: “Kein Tier. So wild.” by Burhan Qurbani and ‘Köln 75’ by Ido Fluk. Both films celebrated their world premiere at the Berlinale.
Freispace – Freispace and Sonoton Music hosted an exclusive Berlinale party. With a DJ set, free drinks and networking opportunities, the event provided the perfect setting for creative people from the film and music industry.
