We would like to officially welcome a new startup partner to the MediaTech Hub Potsdam community: Brandenburg Labs. Brandenburg Labs is based in Ilmenau and was founded in 2019 by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karlheinz Brandenburg, who previously co-developed the MP3 format, which is now used as a standard for audio coding.
The Brandenburg Labs team is further developing the “Personalized Auditory Realities (PARty)” concept, which was previously explored at Technische Universität Ilmenau and the Fraunhofer Institute for Digital Media Technology. With the help of this system, the spatial perception of sound via headphones is to be made even more immersive, and thus will feel more ‘real’.
Through its membership as a startup partner at MTH Potsdam, Brandenburg Labs is also part of the network of the Digital Hub Initiative, which means that the team not only benefits from access to our community and customized matchmaking, but also from the opportunity to participate in international trade fairs and events as part of the de:hub initiative.
