The production of media is usually a collaborative process in which various trades and people work together. But how is this form of collaboration changing as a result of rapid technological developments, especially with regard to the use of artificial intelligence? What does the future of collaboration in the media sector look like and how can it be shaped?
These questions were explored in the workshop “Building Bridges – Create visions of collaboration in media with LEGO® Serious Play®”. The interactive session, which took place as part of the MediaTech Hub Conference 2024, was organized and conducted by the MediaTech Hub Innovator in cooperation with CEQTOR.
The participants came from all areas of the media industry, including film students, producers as well as founders. They now had the opportunity to approach the issue in a playful way and find potential solutions and answers to the underlying questions.
To get started, the participants first had the task of familiarizing themselves with LEGO® and building their own model. The aim was to visualize a very personal challenge in the media industry.
Subsequently, work began in groups: While in the first phase the respective individual challenges were linked in order to work out similarities and differences, the second phase was about modeling a common vision of future collaboration in the media. In other words, building bridges between the ideas and challenges of the participants.
In the end, inspiring LEGO® models were created that illustrate the central challenges of the media industry, such as making a conscious decision when choosing new tools, imparting knowledge between different generations and groups, or managing the balancing act between creativity and customer requirements.
What’s next for the LEGO® Serious Play® workshop? In the future, this workshop will be offered to companies so that they can explore new methods and innovative collaboration techniques in a playful way. The workshop will continue to be run by MTH Innovator and CEQTOR. Further information will follow shortly on the MTH Innovator website.
