What is it about? The Media Innovation Center Babelsberg (MIZ) is looking for technically innovative ideas that future-proof journalism and the media industry. Whether tackling disinformation or strengthening news literacy – if you have a solution for current industry challenges, MIZ will support your implementation. The funding package includes financial support of up to €40,000, individual coaching (worth €1,500), access to professional production equipment (audio/TV), and co-working spaces at MIZ.
For whom? The call targets two groups:
- Students, Graduates & Startups (up to 3 years post-founding): Funding as a needs-based scholarship and production budget (no equity required).
- Media Professionals (min. 5 years experience): Funding as a project grant (20% own contribution required).
Prerequisites The project must demonstrate technical innovation value and have a connection to the Berlin-Brandenburg media region (residence/office or positive impact on the region). Applications must include a project sketch (max. 3 pages) and a timeline.
