Efficient Information Retrieval – Part II (Workshop)

Date: February 25, 2026, 1:00 PM Location: Hasso Plattner Institute, Potsdam Format: Advanced Workshop

What is it about? Your RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) system is up and running, but struggling with real-world data? In this advanced workshop by the AI Service Center Berlin-Brandenburg, you will optimize your AI search for practical application. The focus is on handling complex, unstructured data volumes and improving response quality. Topics include advanced chunking strategies, fusion strategies and re-ranking, scoring functions (like BM25), and an introduction to Graph RAG and Knowledge Graphs. You will also learn how to professionally evaluate RAG systems using metrics such as Precision@K or Recall@K.

For whom? This workshop is aimed at developers and data scientists who have already gained initial experience with RAG systems and now want to specifically improve their performance.

Prerequisites Participation in Part I of the workshop series or comparable practical experience with programming RAG systems is required.

Registration Participation is free of charge, but binding registration is required.
