Au revoir Viva Technology

Viva Technology took place in Paris for the eighth time. The guest country this time was Japan. According to the organizers, more than 165,000 visitors, over 13,500 start-ups and around 2,000 investors came together at the conference from 22 to 25 May 2024. While some were catching up on the latest trends and developments in the tech sector, others were at the conference to present their own business ideas or, conversely, to discover promising start-ups.

A delegation from the Digital Hub Initiative (de:hub), consisting of the digital hubs and several start-ups from the de:hub ecosystem, was represented at the Franco-German joint stand, the “French-German Tech Lab”. Managing Director Andrea Wickleder and Community & Partner Manager Luise Schröter were on site for the MediaTech Hub Potsdam. Ten start-ups from the MTH community were also present: AssetAide, JYMMiN, Mitigant, RAVE.SPACE, Trueffles, Volucap, XR Bootcamp, yoona.ai and ZAUBAR. Sensit!, an alumni startup of the MTH Accelerator, was represented at the Dubai stand.

Of course, there were also exciting panel talks and keynotes with experts from the various sectors this year. One of the hot topics at Viva Technology was, above all, artificial intelligence (AI). The topics of mixed reality, robotics and impact were also in focus.

The Digital Hub Initiative was also involved in organizing various programme items and side events. For example, the first day ended with the “German Startup Night 2024”, which was organized by the AHK – Franco-German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with Germany’s Hidden Champion – Saarland, Berlin Partner and the de:hub initiative. Start-ups, investors and players from the industry came together here to network in a relaxed atmosphere with snacks and cool drinks.

Another highlight was the “French-German Tech Battle”, which took place directly at the joint German-French stand. Four start-ups competed against each other and pitched their business ideas in front of an audience. ZAUBAR emerged as the winner of the battle, while the Potsdam start-up Mitigant was named “Most Promising Startup” – congratulations to both teams.

The visit to Viva Technology 2024 was a good opportunity for MTH Potsdam and its start-ups to present themselves to an international audience and make contacts. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, Germany Trade & Invest and RCKT. for the organization and for the opportunity to be represented at Viva Technology this year.
