Media Dinner 2026: Why It Was One of the Most Important Meals of the Year

Some dinners end with dessert. The Media Dinner 2026 also ended with strong impulses for the future. Between starter and dessert on Tuesday evening at the Representation of the State of Brandenburg to the Federal Government in Berlin, the discussion focused on nothing less than the transformation of an entire industry.

At the invitation of the Brandenburg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy, Climate Action and Europe (MWEKE), around 100 of the most important figures from the media industry and creative scene came together once again this year to exchange ideas and strengthen cross-sector dialogue.
The evening was hosted by Radio Potsdam Managing Director and presenter Juliane Sönnichsen, formerly known as Jule Adam. One of the defining topics at the tables was the technology-driven transformation of the media and cultural industries through AI.

The evening was opened by Brandenburg’s Minister for Economic Affairs and host Martina Klement, who highlighted the importance of shared spaces for innovation and exchange in her welcome address.
Further strong input came from speaker Lisa Kreimeyer. As Director Series DACH at Netflix, she spoke, among other things, about the value of local stories and the inspiration behind the hit series “Kacken an der Havel”, which also benefited from Brandenburg’s production infrastructure.

There was clear agreement on the central role innovative startups play in the transformation of the media industry. Fittingly, seven200. AI Studios founder Tim Greve spoke at the Media Dinner about the future of Babelsberg as a European AI Media City and a newly established cooperation with Studio Babelsberg AG.

Our takeaway: the region’s media and creative industries thrive on active exchange, because, as we all know, the greatest progress is made together. An evening with such a wide range of perspectives, ideas and encounters is exactly what moves us forward.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the dinner and the inspiration!
