STARTUP WEEK SHOWCASES POTSDAM’S INNOVATION STRENGTH
A thriving innovation ecosystem depends on strong connections between entrepreneurship, funding, research, and regional development. „Startup Week Brandenburg“ offered an impressive demonstration of how closely these elements are already interlinked in Potsdam and across Brandenburg.
As part of Brandenburg’s startup action week, MediaTech Hub Potsdam joined several event formats together with startups from the MTH Accelerator. The week highlighted not only the diversity of the regional startup scene, but also the significant potential for MediaTech innovation in Brandenburg.
At the Rooftop Pitch at Potsdam Science Park, startup Valid presented its deepfake detection solution to business angels, showcasing how cutting-edge technological developments are being translated into solutions for real market needs.
In a Q&A session, MTH Startup Manager Daria Trinz answered questions from future founders and aspiring entrepreneurs about growth pathways within the MTH Accelerator, while also sharing insights into the support available for startup teams in the early stages of development.
There was also plenty of room for informal exchange at ILB’s Meet & Greet, where the startup community came together in an open setting between panels and workshops focused on “Enabling Technologies.” Among the participating startups were SonaLab, Kisszu, Lulaa, and Mitigant.
At the Venture Capital Q&A at the University of Potsdam, moderated by MTH Head of Accelerator Erdinc Koc, startups and founders from the region received practical insights into venture capital, investor outreach, and financing strategies.
A special spotlight on the future development of the Babelsberg location was provided by the event Innovation @ Babelsberg, held in cooperation with medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V. and the Babelsberg Media Innovation Center (MIZ). The central question was how a historic film hub can continue evolving into a future-ready innovation ecosystem. Alongside a panel discussion and fireside chat, the teams from Graphrs, Mimic Minds, SONALAB, and Radiozeit pitched their ideas on site.
Once again, Startup Week Brandenburg made clear just how strong the synergies between technology, financing, and regional development are in the area — and how the business ideas emerging from local startups could help shape the future of digital transformation.
MediaTech Hub Potsdam would like to thank all partners, startups, and contributors who helped make this week possible.
