Commissioned by the\u202f<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mwaek.brandenburg.de\/de\/ministerium-f\u00fcr-wirtschaft-arbeit-energie-und-klimaschutz\/bb1.c.478848.de\">Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour, Energy and Climate Action (MWAEK) of the State of Brandenburg<\/a><\/strong>, the event brought together creative professionals, start-ups, experts and interested participants to discuss current developments, opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence in the cultural and creative industries. The conference was fully booked within two days\u2014an unmistakable sign of the topic\u2019s relevance in Brandenburg and beyond.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Voices from Practice: \u201cNext Level Creativity\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day opened with the panel discussion\u202f<em>\u201cNext Level Creativity \u2013 How AI is Changing the Cultural and Creative Industries\u201d,<\/em> moderated by\u202fKatja Dietrich-Kr\u00f6ck (MWAEK). The panel featured\u202f<strong>Jasdan Joerges (GuidePilot\/MicroMovie)<\/strong>,\u202f<strong>Anke Salomon (Design)<\/strong>,\u202f<strong>Michael Boden (Subway to Sally)<\/strong>,\u202f<strong>Katrin Reiling (TEXT F\u00dcR ALLE)<\/strong>\u202fand\u202f<strong>Jan Gabbert (buchstabenschubser)<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the centre were very practical, day-to-day experiences: AI as an idea generator, accelerator and research aid\u2014yet also a tool with clear limitations. The spectrum between experimental curiosity and scepticism became particularly tangible:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In text work<\/strong>, AI proved useful, for instance for press copy, early concept drafts and overcoming creative blocks. At the same time, the panel stressed that shortening or condensing complex texts can introduce errors and unreliability\u2014making human oversight essential.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In design and product development<\/strong>, AI was described as especially strong where visualisation and rendering are concerned. However, when it comes to concept work, empathising with customers and genuine innovation, AI quickly reaches its limits in practice.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In film and media<\/strong>, it became clear that AI is a tool whose value depends on the specific craft: helpful for certain routines, less convincing for distinctive visual worlds or finely tuned sound and speech design.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>In music<\/strong>, the discussion highlighted that AI may profoundly reshape the industry\u2014particularly in functional and pop music\u2014while live performance and human presence remain irreplaceable.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Keynote: \u201cHyper-Reality 2.0\u201d \u2013 Generative AI\u2019s Leap from 2024 to 2025<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the keynote\u202f<em>\u201cHyper-Reality 2.0: The Leap of Generative AI from 2024 to 2025\u201d<\/em>,\u202f<strong>Jacques Alomo (creamlabs AI)<\/strong>\u202fprovided a concise overview of the pace of multimodal systems. He outlined how tools such as\u202fOpenAI Sora,\u202fGoogle Veo 3\u202fand\u202fRunway Gen-4\u202fare accelerating the production of image, video and audio\u2014and why the debate is shifting from \u201cIs this even possible?\u201d towards control, precision and narrative complexity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key takeaway:\u202fAI is not \u201cthe hammer for every nail.\u201d\u202fTo use it effectively, teams must define use cases clearly, understand workflows and remain flexible. This included the recommendation not to tie oneself to a single model, but to think\u202fmodel-agnostically\u202fand continuously benchmark quality (e.g. through blind tests).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hands-on in the Afternoon: Three Practical Workshops<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the afternoon, things became hands-on: across three parallel workshops, participants tested AI tools using real-world use cases:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Creating a marketing campaign<\/strong>\u202f(from text and visuals to social assets)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Developing design concepts<\/strong>\u202f(iterations, variations, rapid visualisation)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Building a storyboard for film and theatre projects<\/strong>\u202f(including participants\u2019 own scenes)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite varying levels of prior knowledge, a shared working rhythm quickly emerged. Within two hours, participants produced high-quality outputs\u2014ranging from complete marketing campaigns to storyboard elements and animated concepts. One insight stood out clearly: good results depend heavily on how clearly tasks are framed.\u202f<strong>Prompts work best when written as precisely as a human briefing.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Law, Ethics and Responsibility: \u201cAI Without Limits?\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Late in the afternoon, the panel\u202f<em>\u201cAI Without Limits? Law, Ethics and Responsibility in the Creative Industries\u201d <\/em>followed, moderated by\u202f<strong>Sascha Friesike (Weizenbaum Institute)<\/strong>.\u202f<strong>Katharina Uppenbrink (Initiative Urheberrecht)<\/strong>and\u202f<strong>Prof. Dr Christian Czychowski (NORDEMANN)<\/strong>\u202fexamined what current developments\u2014around frameworks such as the\u202fEU AI Act, transparency obligations, intellectual property, remuneration and liability\u2014mean for creative practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussion centred on two perspectives that are often conflated, but must be addressed separately in practice:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Input questions:<\/strong>\u202fMay my creative work be used as training material? How are creators remunerated for their work? How can licensing models be designed?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Output questions:<\/strong>\u202fWhen is a creative result still protected by copyright? How substantial must the human contribution be? And who is liable in case of disputes?&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>A practical call to action from the panel: review contracts, take AI clauses seriously, and engage more actively as a sector in dialogue with policymakers and associations\u2014so that regulation becomes effective and grounded in real-world practice.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Results, Closing and Key Takeaways<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day concluded with presentations of workshop outcomes. Participants showcased, among other things, a donation appeal video with a social media campaign, rapid product visualisations (e.g. concept ideas in product design), as well as script, storyboard and film building blocks for creative projects.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The subsequent networking made visible what shaped the conference overall:\u202f<strong>AI is already firmly embedded in creative
