Stasi interrogation methods, subway escape, highway travel without a car: the Vragments team of journalists, developers, graphic designers and scientists expands our reality in virtual space.\nWith their product Fader<\/a>, anyone can tell their own virtual story easily and without complex technology – with text, sound, images, video and, of course, in 360 degrees.\nIn the MediaTech Lab Lounge at Studio Five, we spoke to the five founders Linda Rath-Wiggins, Stephan Gensch, Rony Esterluss, Tino Breddin and Marcus B\u00f6sch about houseboats in Copenhagen, Deutschlandfunk, the HPI and XR history. <\/p>\n\n

We 5 Vragments founders are …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

is interested in making complex topics understandable through immersive solutions in AR and VR.\nTo this end, we are building a platform, Fader<\/a>, with which interactive VR stories can be built and published quickly and easily. <\/p>\n\n

Our company idea was born …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

because we want to lower the technical hurdles for creatives, storytellers and journalists so that they can offer their stories immersively and interactively.<\/p>\n\n

Fader is …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

a web-based VR platform with which VR stories can not only be built, but also experienced.<\/p>\n\n

I had my first VR experience …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

on a space station.\nSomewhere in the middle of nowhere.\nA friend had introduced us to new VR technologies and made us aware of the first journalistic VR stories.\nAfter that, it quickly became clear: this is the medium of the future. <\/p>\n\n

Best VR product ever \/ or best VR experience ever …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

is our VR application on the topic of Stasi interrogation methods.\nWe are very proud of this collaboration with Deutschlandfunk Kultur and the journalist Jana Wuttke.\nIn the experience, users can use original audio recordings and a computer-generated interrogation room to understand the interrogation methods used by the Stasi to force confessions.\nThe original audios are gripping enough. <\/p>\n\n

But there are also great Fader stories from our users.\nWe’ve been on houseboats in Copenhagen, in English windmills and on a moped in India. <\/p>\n\n

Our latest “baby” to join in…<\/em><\/p>\n\n

is Fader.\nSimply register, upload your own pictures or movies and get started. <\/p>\n\n

We, one female founder and four male founders, got to know each other …<\/em><\/p>\n\n

at various locations.\nThese include at the Helmholtz-Gymnasium in Potsdam, in the pub and in joint seminars at the University of Potsdam and the Hasso Plattner Institute. <\/p>\n\n
